上一期我们讲到Clifford在紧急关头帮了马戏团主，他一会儿当训兽师，一会儿扮小丑。当然，Clifford的能耐可远远不止这些呢!下半场，Clifford上演了最刺激的一幕……本文适合小学五年级学生阅读。
1. The second half of the circus begins with the elephantparade. The biggest elephant has a cold and can't lead the parade. So Clifford slips into an elephant suit and gives them a hand. I mean a tail.
马戏团下半场演出从大象游行开始。最大的那头大象感冒了，不能引领队伍。于是，Clifford迅速穿上一头大象的服装帮了他们一把，我的意思是，这“一把”不是他的手，而是他的尾巴。
2. Next comes the "human cannonball". The performerdoesn't have any gunpowderfor her cannon. So Clifford puffs and helps her out.
接下来是“人体炮弹”发射。表演者没有大炮火药了，于是 Clifford吹气把她“发射”出去了。
3. Last, I am going up in a balloon with the circus owner.
最后，我和马戏团主乘坐气球升空。
4. Oh no, the rope breaks. Clifford runs to save us. But he doesn't catch the rope. We are going away with the wind.
噢，糟糕!绳子断了。Clifford跑着来救我们，但他没能抓住绳子。我们随风越飘越远。
5. Clifford doesn't give up. He uses a poleas an arrowand telephone wires as a bow. He takes aim. Go!
Clifford没有放弃努力，他拿一根杆做箭，电话线做弓。他瞄准了，发射!
6. The balloon is falling like a rock. We are so scared.
气球就象一块石头一样往下落。我们很害怕。
7. But Clifford gets there in time. Everybody says it is the most exciting show of the day. Clifford saves the circus,and me.
但是Clifford及时赶到。大家都说这是那天最令人兴奋的表演。Clifford 救了马戏团，也救了我。
