A course that impressed you most in college
During my college life, there were so many fantastic courses impressing me deeply. Among all those fabulous educational programs, the set of lectures given by Professor Deng XueJian, an eminent professional in the field of zoology, exerted the hugest impACT on me and my further study.
Clearly, so many GREat moments had I experienced in his class that I would like to list three of the best one. First and foremost, Prof. Deng never failed to engage us in his teaching by showing us numerous interesting pictures of the species only described in words in the textbook. In addition, Prof. Deng, more often than not, took us to participate in all kinds of community ACTivities, publicizing the significance of protection towards endangered animals among the residents. The most admirable point of his course is that he combined the zoology with literature to demonstrate the beauty of zoology. For example, he introduced the diversity of the species by citing some famous poems.
Overall, in his class, not only did I acquire professional skills, but the interest towards nature and literature was ignited in my mind as well. I feel so lucky that I have got the chance to be instructed by him.
A camp ACTivity that benefited you most (长沙新东方 曹林权)
When I was a college student I took part in a wide range of ACTivities held in my school. Among all these fascinating pastimes, the one benefited me most is a contest on oral English, named the National English Contest for College Students, in which I ranked the third.
Obviously, this competition was a huge blessing in my study and life. Initially, it enabled me to enhance my oral English during the process of preparing for the competition. Furthermore, through the fierce contest, I found my own shortcomings in oral English and learned a lot from other excellent contestants. Last but not the least, several previous friends were made in that ACTivity, who not only helped me a lot but became my best teachers in my way to study English.
Overall, through the competition, not only did I achieve a relatively good prize, but a clear self-estimation was made, which plays an indispensable role in one’s way to success. Thanks to it, I began to study English more diligent in my rest college life.
A classmate of yours who has influenced you most in college
Classmates around us are playing an essential role in one’s life. However, when it comes to the classmate who has influenced me most in my college, without question, Henry is the one who comes to my mind firstly.
Henry is my classmate during my 4-year college life. The reasons why I deem that Henry has influenced me most are as follows: in the first place, Henry is not only expert at his academic fields, but also adept in addressing all kinds of difficulties and predicaments we are confronted with in our daily life, which demonstrates a fitting example of how verSATile a college student should be to me; in the second place, he has always been instructing us some valuable principles ranging from those virtues we should possess, to those capabilities we are supposed to be equipped with. For instance, that we are expected to be ready to lend a helping hand to those who are in need is the words he always reminds us.
To sum up, what Henry has done for us is a solid moral foundation that leads us to a promising direction, and what Henry has always been doing has influenced me most in my life values.

Pandas, with special black and white fur, are mild animals. They were listed as endangered species due to their little amount. The panda has an unusual meaning to WWF because the picture of a panda has always been the logo of the foundation since it established in 1961. Being the rarest member in bear family, the panda live mostly in the forest in southwestern China. At present, there are roughly 1000 pandas. These animals, which feed on bamboo, are facing plenty of threats. As a result, it it more crucial than ever to ensure the existence of pandas.
New Yorkers are gradually getting used to more pedaling passengers on those blazing blue Citi Bikes. But what about local bike shops? Is Citi Bike rolling up riders at their expense? At Gotham Bikes in Tribeca, a manager who gave his name as “Ben W.” said the shop has seen an increase in its overall sales due to the bike-share program. “It’s getting more people on the road, more people learning about the sport and getting involved,” he said. An employee at Danny’s Cycles in Gramercy said Citi Bike is a good option for people to ease into biking in a city famed for its vehicular congestion and agGREssive drivers. “They can try out a bike without committing to buying one,” James Ryan said.
Rentals are not a big part of the business at either Gotham Bikes or Danny’s Cycles. But for Frank’s Bike Shop, a small business that has been at its current Lower East Side location on Grand St. since 1976, the bike-share program has been bad news. Owner Frank Arroyo said that his rental business has decreased by 90 percent since the Citi Bikes were rolled out last month.
However, Ben said the bike-share is good for bike sales at his shop. “People have used the bike-share and realized how GREat it is to bike in the city, then decide that they want something nicer for themselves,” he noted.
Christian Farrell of Waterfront Bicycle Shop, on West St. just north of Christopher St., said initially he was concerned about bike-share, though, he admitted, “I was happy to see people on bikes.”
Farrell’s early concerns were echoed by Andrew Crooks, owner of NYC Velo, at 64 Second Ave. “It seemed like a GREat idea, but one that would be difficult to implement,” Crooks said of Citi Bike. He said he worried about inexperienced riders’ lack of awareness of biking rules and backlash from non-cyclists. However, he said, it’s still too early to tell if his business has been impACTed.
While it’s possible bike-share will cause a drop in business in the long run, Crooks allowed that the idea, as a whole, is good for the city.
But what about local bike shops? Is Citi Bike rolling up riders at their expense?
定位在第一段的第三行, Gotham Bikes的一个manager说道 “the shop has seen an increase in its overall sales due to the bike-share program.”
F店的店主说道since the Citi Bikes were rolled out last month.因为自行车共享计划的推行,his rental business has decreased by 90 percent,他的rental business租借生意下降了百分之九十。
59题 A
He said he worried about inexperienced riders’ lack of awareness of biking rules and backlash from non-cyclists.
Newsweek. http://www.newsweek.com/chemicals-within-87375
As an Alaskan fisherman, Timothy June, 54, used to think that he was safe from industrial pollutants at his home in Haines—a town with a population of 2,400 people and 4,000 eagles, with 20 million acres of protected wilderness nearby. But in early 2007, June aGREed to take part in a survey of 35 Americans from seven states. It was a biomonitoring project, in which people's blood and urine were tested for traces of chemicals—in this case, three potentially hazardous classes of compounds found in common household products like shampoo, tin cans, shower curtains and upholstery. The results—released in November in a report called "Is It in Us?" by a coalition of environmental groups—were not reassuring. Every one of the participants, ranging from an Illinois state legislator to a Massachusetts minister, tested positive for all three classes of contaminants. And while the simple presence of these chemicals doesn't necessarily indicate a health risk, the fACT that typical Americans carry these chemicals at all shocked June and his fellow participants. As Stephanie Felten, 28, of Aurora, Ill., put it, "Why should chemical companies be allowed to roll the dice on my health?"
Clearly, there are chemicals in our bodies that don't belong there. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducts a large, ongoing survey that has found 148 chemicals in Americans of all ages, including lead, mercury, dioxins and PCBs. Other scientists have detected antibACTerial agents from liquid soaps in breast milk, infants' cord blood and the urine of young girls. And in 2005, the Environmental Working Group found an average of 200 chemicals in the cord blood of 10 newborns, including known carcinogens and neurotoxins. "Our babies are being born pre-polluted," says Sharyle Patton of Commonweal, which cosponsored "Is It in Us?" "This is going to be the next big environmental issue after climate change."
A. analyses
E. excess
G. habitually
H. necessarily
I. products
L. shocked
M. simple
N. survey
39. K 本空所在分句“_____in November in a report called ‘Is it in us?’ by an environmental group”作为插入语修饰主语the results, 已知部分的意思可以理解为“11月,在由一个环保组织所做的名为‘是我们吗?’
40. J 本空所在分句 “_____from … to a…”
