China boasts a vast territory and a large population. Chinese in different regions speak their own dialects which vary considerably in pronunciation but slightly in vocabulary and grammar. Some dialects, especially those in northern and southern areas of China, are quite different from each other, thus it is often difficult for people speaking different dialects to understand one another. Although dialects are usually regarded as an integral part of local culture, people speaking dialects have been decreasing in recent years. To encourage people to speak local dialects more frequently, some local governments have taken such measures as offering courses on dialects in schools and broadcasting programs on dialects on the radio and television, so as to preserve local cultural heritage.

Nowadays the significance of mutual understanding and respect in interpersonal communication has gone viral on major Chinese social media platforms. A new study finds that 70% citizens claimed that they were severely hurt for being mislead by others.
So indispensable are the influences of the phenomenon above that I would like to explore from the following aspects. The first big thing to mention is that showing esteem and consideration to others, undoubtedly, has topped the list of recipes to reduce tremendous misunderstanding in the association with individuals around you, which may, to a large extent, boost the friendship and relationship. The most persuasive example that occurs to me is my classmate, Li Ming, who distinguished himself as the best partner for putting others’ emotion before his own feeling all the time.Furthermore, on no account can we deny that being extremely thoughtful and respectful renders it a mission possible for the society to terminate an unimaginable amount of prejudice and indifference, thus creating an increasingly harmonious society.
Each of us, from where I stand, are supposed to be considerate and give full encouragement to those different from us. Meanwhile, always bear in mind that each individual ought to criticize others in a kind and reasonable way if it is possible. Only in this way can a superb relationship be established in real sense.
